2024 SMAS Vocal Music Scholarship Recipient

Every spring, SMAS accepts applications for a vocal music scholarship to an area senior with plans to continue their love of singing at a higher education school of their choice. This scholarship is in memory of a past SMAS artistic director, Charles Facer. “Chuck” was the director of SMAS from 1982-2000.

The SMAS Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Collin Scott is the 2024 SMAS Vocal Music Scholarship recipient. Collin is the son of Donnie and Rebecca Scott. He is a graduate of Nixa High School with an outstanding “career” in vocal music under the direction of Daniel Gutierrez. 

Along with the love of singing, Collin aspires to become a film composer. One of the many accomplishments while at Nixa was winning the Mizzou Composition Festival competition. We are extremely proud of Collin Scott! He plans to attend Missouri University this fall. Congratulations, Collin!
